Where She Went by Gayle Forman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Goodreads Summary:
It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future - and each other.
Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.
My Review:
I thoroughly enjoyed If I Stay...but Where She Went, brought me to a whole nother level. Gripping in every way possible, heart wrenching, and just plain beautifully written.
And to be told from Adam's POV made it that much more intense. Seeing everything from his point, from his perspective, from a guy who's completely, 100% in love with someone, but still manages through it all, to still be a guy...it was amazing.
I loved every moment of the story, which made it easy to read in just one day. I didn't want it to end, but when it did, it couldn't have been written any other way.
Excellent read. And I can't say it enough, fantastic writing. Kudos to Ms. Forman for her amazing story telling so real, I felt as if I too, were sitting there listening to Adam and Mia play a private concert just for me.
Loved this book - everything about it. Highly recommended to everyone.
