If I Stay by Gayle Forman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Goodreads Summary:
In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen-year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck...
A sophisticated, layered, and heartachingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make—and the ultimate choice Mia commands.
My Review:
Beautifully written, this story enveloped me from the first page, and left me torn between the choices I would've made myself.
A true love story, Adam and Mia were breathtaking - making me laugh one moment, and cry uncontrollably in the next. It's been a long time since a book has pushed me through all of these emotions and I am so glad it took me this long to read it, because I'd purchased both If I Stay and Where She Went, together.
Expertly written, every moment, every emotion was felt through the pages. What a beautiful story; I'm so glad I was able to experience it.
Highly recommended read.
